Disclaimer, Scope & Methodology
Nature of this archive
This repository is a research archive documenting a matter of public interest. It is not legal advice, not journalism with independent fact-finding, and not an endorsement of any party's position. It aggregates and organizes already-public reporting and records.
Allegation vs. fact
This dispute is actively contested and involves ongoing civil litigation and a pending criminal matter. Throughout these documents:
- CONFIRMED marks facts documented by court records, official agency statements, or multiple independent reputable outlets (e.g., that a lawsuit was filed; that arrests occurred).
- ALLEGATION marks contentions advanced by one side and not adjudicated (e.g., that any party "stole" the collection; that police acted with bias; that the campaign was "extortion").
As of the compilation date (2026-06-03), no court has found any party civilly liable or criminally guilty in this matter. Criminal charges are accusations; a defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Civil complaint allegations are unproven contentions.
What is deliberately excluded
To keep this archive ethical, lawful, and credible, it excludes:
- Personal identifying information (PII) about any individual — private citizens and named police officers alike: no home addresses, personal phone numbers, personal email addresses, family member details, daily-movement information, or anything that could facilitate harassment, stalking, or "doxxing."
- Re-hosted copyrighted media. News photographs and videos are linked to their original sources, not copied into this repository.
- Unverified rumor presented as fact. Single-source or clearly partisan claims are flagged.
Note that doxxing, harassment, impersonation, and forged documents are themselves causes of action / allegations within the BAM lawsuit. An archive that engaged in PII-aggregation would risk reproducing the very conduct in dispute and would undermine its own value as a neutral record.
Methodology & limitations
- Built from WebSearch result summaries of the cited reputable outlets plus the parties' public
statements. The compilation environment had no outbound page-fetch access (HTTP 403,
host_not_allowed), so full article text could not be independently opened during compilation. - Some dates are approximate ("approx.") and some author bylines are unconfirmed; these are flagged inline. Re-verify against the live sources before relying on any specific detail.
- Name spellings vary across outlets (e.g., "Bryan Mansell" vs. "Brian Mancel"; one outlet rendered Schneider's surname incorrectly). The most consistently reported forms are used here.
- The case number is unverified: news/aggregator summaries report 260402353, while the community case page (the only primary-style page reachable on 2026-06-03) shows 260400253. Neither has been confirmed against the primary docket, and neither should be assumed to be a typo of the other — verify against Utah XChange.
Corrections
If you can document an error against a primary source, correct it and cite the source. Prefer primary records (court filings, full agency statements, full original videos) over aggregated summaries.
