Court Documents — Where to Find the Filings
Like the rest of this archive, the case filings are linked, not re-hosted (the compilation environment had no outbound network access, and court/agency records carry their own access rules). Two kinds of pointer appear below:
- the authoritative record — the clerk/agency system the document officially lives in (Utah XChange, Oregon eCourt / OJCIN, the American Fork PD release); and
- community-compiled mirrors — copies the community has surfaced, indexed in the community-curated source catalog. These are leads, not authority: community mirrors can be edited or vanish, and were not verifiable during compilation as authenticated clerk copies. Always cross-check a mirror against the official record before relying on it.
The richest index of actual copies is the community-curated source catalog (its §1 covers court filings, §2 the American Fork PD records). That catalog is defense-aligned — see its own bias note — and is organized for citation, not neutrality.
Authoritative primary source (the clerk record)
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Court | Utah Fourth Judicial District Court, Utah County (Provo) |
| Case No. | Unverified — reported as 260402353 (news/aggregators) vs 260400253 (community case page, the only primary-style page reachable as of 2026-06-03). Confirm against the docket before relying on either. |
| Access system | Utah State Courts XChange (https://www.utcourts.gov/en/court-records-publications/records/court-records/coris.html) — Utah district-court records are not on PACER (PACER is federal). XChange generally requires an account and may charge fees. |
| Document types to request | Verified Complaint (filed 2026-05-27); TRO + order setting preliminary-injunction hearing (signed ~2026-05-28, Judge Tony F. Graf Jr.); any answer/responsive pleadings; docket sheet. |
Utah district-court filings are public records but are typically accessed via XChange or in person at the clerk's office; they are not freely full-text searchable on the open web.
Where to find each document
Document-by-document pointers. The mirror column links to the community catalog (which holds the external copies, with their caveats); the authoritative column names the official system to confirm against.
Civil suit — BAM Franchising et al. v. Schneider et al. (Utah Fourth District)
| Document | Filed | Community mirror (lead) | Authoritative record |
|---|---|---|---|
| Verified Complaint | 2026-05-27 | Catalog §1 — Utah filings folder (Proton Drive: complaint + consignment agreement + "sold sets" investigation + incident logs) | XChange |
| TRO + preliminary-injunction hearing notice | ~2026-05-28 | Catalog §1 — same Utah filings folder ⚠ confirm the order itself is present | XChange |
| Docket sheet | — | (not mirrored) | XChange only |
| Answer / responsive pleadings | if/when filed | (not mirrored) | XChange |
The franchisees' counter-suit v. B&M (complaint, LEGO email, franchise agreement, termination letter, motion to compel arbitration) sits in the same Proton Drive folder — see catalog §1.
Criminal matter — American Fork PD (distinct from the civil suit)
These belong to the March 2026 criminal case, not the civil suit; background and exact dates are in
../police-controversy.md. They are accusations; Schneider is presumed
innocent.
| Document | Date | Community mirror (lead) | Authoritative record |
|---|---|---|---|
| Probable-cause affidavit | March 2026 | Catalog §2 — AFPD file drop | AFPD release |
| Search warrant | March 2026 | Catalog §2 — AFPD file drop (warrants listed) | AFPD release |
| Search-warrant return | March 2026 | Catalog §2 — AFPD file drop | AFPD release |
⚠ The catalog's §2 explicitly lists the search warrants, incident reports, and released body-cam; the probable-cause affidavit and warrant return travel with that warrant package — confirm each is present. The official AFPD Dropbox was disabled 2026-05-31, so the catalog also lists a community backup mirror; the AFPD media release is mirrored in
../media/primary-sources.md. Cite only the officially released records — never the unredacted body-cam leak the archive excludes by policy.
Other defense-aligned indexes (verify before relying)
Beyond the curated catalog, these third-party sites also host or index case materials. They are defense-aligned and were not verifiable during compilation as hosting an authenticated copy of the official filing. Treat as leads, not authority; always cross-check against the clerk's record.

Oregon side (underlying business dispute)
- The Mansell family reportedly obtained a default judgment in an Oregon small-claims action, with follow-up civil litigation. Oregon court records are accessible via Oregon eCourt / OJCIN (https://www.courts.oregon.gov/services/online/Pages/ojcin.aspx); the community catalog also mirrors Ben's Oregon small-claims filings and a full OR case-number index — see catalog §1.
- A criminal/police investigation in Keizer, Oregon was reportedly under review by the Marion County District Attorney.
